I studied Chemistry with Pharmacology at the University of Birmingham, completing the four-year MSci course in 2016. Following graduation, I worked as an Analytical Chemist based in Craigavon, Northern Ireland, for three years. As part of a NMR Spectroscopy group, I focused on the routine testing of a range of pharmaceutical materials using a range of qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques.
I completed my PhD at the University of Manchester, under the supervision of Dr. Laura Castañar Acedo, Prof Gareth Morris and Prof Mathias Nilsson. My PhD research focused on developing new highly selective and high resolution (pure shift) NMR experiments to aid the structural and conformational analysis of fluorine and phosphorus containing systems. In April 2023, I moved to the University of Oxford as the NMR Officer, assisting with the daily management of the NMR Service in the NMR Facility. In October 2023, I became the NMR Service Manager.
I am responsible for the provision and daily management of the NMR Submission Service in the Department of Chemistry. This includes running routine 1- and 2-D experiments, as well as liaising with service users to design and implement more specialised experiments according to their requirements. I am also available to provide assistance and advice in the analysis of NMR data and the use of NMR data processing software.
