I joined the NMR team in December 2024 after graduating from the University of Bath with an MChem degree in Chemistry. I completed my final year project working under the supervision of Dr. Andy Johnson in the Johnson research group. My project focused on synthesising novel germylenes and stannylenes and their applications in insertion-style reactions. I utilised 1H, 13C{1H}, 31P{1H} and 119Sn{1H} NMR Spectroscopy, alongside heteronuclear methods, such as HSQC, HMBC, NOESY and COSY. Additionally, I used Variable Temperature NMR spectroscopy to investigate the fluxionality of the compounds I synthesised, and Diffusion Ordered Spectroscopy to elucidate the oligomeric form of my compounds in solution state.
I am responsible for managing cryogenics logistics and looking after the open access spectrometers. I assist with the provision of the NMR Submission Service and provide technical support across the NMR laboratories.
